Hi, I'm Joanna,

I'm an artist based in Sussex UK specialising in watercolour and drawing.

I have always enjoyed creating art, both at school and home. My evenings were spent writing stories and comic strips, drawing and creating. I took art for GCSE and didn't take an art subject again until university where I studied animation. 

Influenced by the fantastic classic 2D animators such as Glen Keane and Walt Stanchfield I discovered life drawing, which I completely fell in love with. It changed my perspective on art, perfection and the real power of capturing movement and the essence of a subject. I try to capture something of that in everything I create. 

I teach watercolour and drawing classes, design and create prints and affordable artwork, and I also create bespoke commission work. I balance this out with creating the art that moves me. In my personal life I'm a big nerd, I enjoy video games, board games and Dungeons and Dragons, I also create music in a band, but in contrast, nature is probably what I love the most. Being outside is my happiest place.
